Production (Manufacturing Operations) - Internship

Position Title: Production Intern

Department: Production / Manufacturing

Duration: 12 months (with intent to confirm as permanent based on performance)

Location: Manufacturing Shop Floor

Reporting To: Production Manager

Role Objective:

The Production Intern will support day-to-day manufacturing operations across machining, assembly, testing, and finishing processes. This role aims to build strong fundamentals in valve manufacturing and production planning, with a clear pathway to a permanent production or operations role.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist production supervisors in daily shop floor operations.

· Support production planning and job allocation activities.

· Track work orders, production progress, and bottlenecks.

· Assist in monitoring machine utilization, cycle times, and manpower deployment.

· Support implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

· Participate in continuous improvement, productivity, and waste reduction initiatives.

· Assist in coordinating with QC, maintenance, and stores teams.

· Maintain basic production records and reports.

Learning & Exposure:

· Understanding of production planning, capacity management, and shop floor discipline.

· Introduction to lean manufacturing, productivity metrics, and quality practices.

· Exposure to ERP-based production reporting.

Desired Profile:

· BE / BTech in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.

· Strong interest in shop floor operations and manufacturing.

· Willingness to work in an industrial environment.

· Good learning attitude, discipline, and teamwork skills.
